FAMILY LIFE COMMITTEE

The purpose of the Family Life Committee is to assist the Parish Pastoral Council in educating, promoting and encouraging a sense of Christian family life for all persons in our parish faith community by fostering a true feeling of belonging to the parish community. We focus on the central role of the family in the parish and pastoral activities by developing programs and social events to strengthen family unity and foster Christian values.

The goals of the Family Life Committee are:

1. To strongly promote the Catholic Church’s values for Christian Family Life and Christian Marriage.
2. To encourage families to be active participants at Our Lady of Peace Church.
3. To grow in our faith as individuals and as family members.
4. To grow as a committee through prayer and action so that we will become a resource for family life within our parish community.
5. To encourage by example an atmosphere of love within our families, founded on the teachings of Christ.

Current Family Life activities, at Our Lady of Peace Parish:

• Angel Tree – an Advent fundraiser for the needy
• Bread and Broth Suppers – after Wednesday evening masses during Lent (free will offering is donated to the needy)
• Chili dinner
• Christmas Potluck dinner
• Donut Socials - held monthly
• Newcomer Welcoming Socials
• Parish Festival
