| Our Lady of Peace Holy Name Society |
| All adult men
of Our Lady of Peace Parish are considered to be members of the Holy Name Society. This
society is mainly a group of men who support many of the programs that are important to
the younger members of the parish. The Society financially supports the athletic programs
of Our Lady of Peace School, Holy Family Middle School and Columbus High School. Support
is also provided to Cub Scouts and to Boy Scout Troop 380 of Our Lady of Peace. When the
need arises, donations are made to fund improvements in our school and church. The main fund raising event of the year is the Wild Game Feed, a tradition
started in 1955, and held the first Thursday of February. The other significant source of
income for the Society is payment of voluntary dues.
Officers of the Society are as follows: President,
David Burger; Vice President, Bill Heiting; Secretary, George Konieczny; Treasurer, Lyle
Lang; and Advisor, Gordon Adler. |

| Parish
Council of Catholic Women (PCCW) |
| The mission
of the Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW) is to support, empower, and educate parish
women in spirituality, leadership, and service. PCCW programs respond with Gospel values
to the needs of the church and society in the modern world. Service
programs include funeral dinners, the annual Parish Memorial Service, World Day of Prayer,
the annual theater bus trip, and the PCCW newsletter. Fund-raising programs include thrift
sales and the Christmas Cookie Walk. Funds raised help support Catholic missions, Birth
Right, the Hannah Center, Catholic school scholarships, parish improvements, and programs
for the divorced and separated.
PCCWs Advisory Board, which is open to all parish women, has
been established to promote these programs. Current members of the Advisory Board are
Marge Sternweis, Pat Kaiser, Jan Johnson, Anne Schmidt, and Joanne Taddy. For more
information, contact members of the Advisory Board or the parish office. |
