Youth Sacramental Preparation:

BAPTISM is usually celebrated at one of the weekend masses. First time parents are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Class. Arrangements can be made by calling the pastor. Practice of the faith by the parents is presumed.

FIRST EUCHARIST AND CONFIRMATION is held yearly, usually in the spring. The First Eucharist is a parish function that is usually administered to children in the Second Grade. Our Lady of Peace’s Confirmation Program is a two-year program that begins in the Seventh Grade. Those who wish to receive either of these Sacraments must be involved in religious education classes, either in CCD or a catholic school, the year prior to entering either sacramental program.

Religious Education Program:

Previously known as CCD, the Religious Education Program (REP) of Our Lady of Peace Parish meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 until 7:00 pm in Our Lady of Peace Intermediate School. These weekly classes, which begin the second week of September and conclude the last week of April, are for children in the First Grade through the Sixth Grade who do not attend a catholic school.

Rite of Christian Initiation of a Child (RCIC):

If a child has reached the age of reason, and has not received knowledge of the faith and/or has not received a sacrament, arrangements can be made with the pastor for the child to enter into this program.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word:

This Religious Education Program for pre-school age children is held weekly during the 10:00 Mass; except the Fourth Sunday of the month, when the Children’s Mass is held. There is not a registration fee for this program, nor is preregistration required.

Children’s Mass:

Is held the Fourth Sunday of the month. There is a sign-up sheet in the Sacristy for children to be either Lectors, Greeters, or Servers.
